Zoning Change Put On Hold

CRANSTON –– A proposed zoning density increase in a section of western Cranston east of Pippin Orchard Road that had galvanized residents and city planners alike was held for further study Thursday.

It was an about-face move for the six-member City Council ordinance committee, which a month ago had unanimously endorsed the proposed change.

The vote to hold it for further study was unanimous. Councilwoman Michelle Bergin-Andrews did not attend the meeting.
